The Heritage Services team at Bath & North East Somerset Council care for and manage some of the city’s best-loved museums and galleries including the world-famous Roman Baths, the vast collection of the Fashion Museum, and the stunning Victoria Art Gallery.

As we’re based in Bristol and consider ourselves friendly neighbours with Bath. That’s why we’re excited to begin a partnership with Bath & North East Somerset Council Heritage Services.

Heritage Portfolio 

Bath’s Heritage Services oversees three iconic museums and a collection of historic venues & services, each with its own unique charm and historical significance. Collectively the museums and gallery welcome over a million visitors a year, engaging with visitors internationally, nationally and locally.

As well as visitor experiences, their venues offer a wide range of experiences, events and bookable spaces to cater to every need.

The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths stand as a testament to Bath's rich history, drawing visitors from around the globe. The Roman Baths date back nearly 2,000 years, when Romans flocked to bathe and worship at the site's natural thermal springs.

 Today, visitors can explore the baths, witness the Temple of Sulis Minerva ruins, and immerse themselves in the stories of past inhabitants. What an attraction, and what an iconic piece of history. 

Victoria Art Gallery

Situated in the heart of Bath, the Victoria Art Gallery boasts a permanent collection that spans centuries of artistic expression. With over 1,500 works in the collection, including pieces by renowned artists like Thomas Gainsborough and Walter Sickert, it's a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. The gallery's dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions featuring artists such as Grayson Perry and Kaffe Fassett ensures there's always something new to discover.

Bath's Historic Venues  

Bath’s Historic Venues offer unique and atmospheric settings for weddings, conferences, and events. Including the stunning Guildhall, , the impressive Roman Baths & Pump Room, and Bath’s beautiful heritage parks, there’s a range of extraordinary venues to explore. 

The Fashion Museum  

The Fashion Museum has a collection of almost 100,000 objects. From stunning decorated gloves from the time of Shakespeare all the way up to some contemporary designs & pieces, including the Dress of the Year collection. The museum is currently closed with planning underway for a a new home in the centre of Bath – during this time a programme of virtual events will bring the stories of the collection to life.
